Darling
From Glen Cook Wiki
Darling (aka Tonie Fisk) is the reincarnation of the White Rose, the famed general who finally defeated the Dominator. When the Black Company first meets her, she is a nine-year old girl being gang-raped by troops of the Limper who have destroyed her village. Raven takes her under his wing. At the Battle of Charm, Raven and Croaker realize that she is the prophesied return of the White Rose and Raven secretly takes her to safety.
As an adult, she is tall, maybe two inches under six feet. Her eyes are a washed-out blue that often seems vacant, but they become swords of ice when she is thwarted. Her hair is blonde, as from much exposure to the sun. Without continuous attention it hangs in straggles and strings. Not vain, she keeps it shorter than is stylish. In dress, too, she leans toward the utilitarian. Darling is deaf and mute and communicates via sign language.
She is a capable general, but her special gift is a magical null, a powerful field extending for hundreds of yards around her which prevents magic from working. After years of fighting, the Lady and Darling team up to dispose of The Dominator, using Darling's null and the resources of the Lady in a careful strategy to release him without allowing him access to his powers. Darling is rendered powerless by The Lady at the Barrowland when the Lady invokes Darling's true name.
After the defeat of the Dominator, she heads out with Silent, Raven, and Case. Her last great act is to coordinate the resources of the Plain of Fear to hunt down the rampaging Limper, eventually destroying him and the Silver Spike with the Dominator's evil essence. Afterwards, she retires to a potato farm with Case and happily raises children and grandchildren.
