Besand

The last true captain of the Eternal Guard, assigned to watch the Barrowland to prevent tampering with the Dominator's prison. Besand was a thin, pallid man who kept a rigorously close eye on Bomanz.

Eventually, Besand was forcibly retired to make way for a political appointment, a noble fop with no real ability or interest in keeping to the mission of the Guard. Besand despaired, but his sense of duty prevented him from leaving even then; he continued to watch over the Barrowland in secret. He was killed while chasing a Resurrectionist thief, Men Fu, when his amulet failed and the ghosts atop the Howler's barrow swarmed him.
